Daily Creates Week 1 – Text

This week, our Daily Creates focus was Text. I took a creative writing class in highschool and really enjoyed it, so it kind of took me back to those days. However, I felt like I was struggling when trying to follow the prompts as none overly interested me, so I was stuck. I like having the freedom to write whatever I want, so having a prompt threw me off, and held me back a bit. However, I had enough creativity to create a limerick, which I needed a refresher on what that was, ad finish off a poem, which was difficult. For the word art I had used inspirastion from a quote, as I was having diffucluty figurign out to write. However, it felt really good to be creative, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the class brings!

Her words were on fire

As she rolled her tire

Gravel flying in the dust

As he cussed

Lighting the wire

Our love is a broken oatcake

Crumbled but cannot be thrown away.

Like that fall day

Where you crushed me like the leaves

But I still can’t throw you away.

Like that ice cream we got at the pier

That fell off the cone and smashed into the ground

You left me lifeless, but still, I can’t throw you away

Little bits left of us are crumbled

Taste sweet until force crumbles it

But still, I cannot throw you away.
